Behind Miss Confections

Hi! My name is Ruth. I’m a recipe developer and a food v/blogger.

Turning ingredients into actual food has always been very fascinating for me ever since I was a child. I was introduced to the kitchen at the age of 12 by my mom who’s a talented cook. She ran cafeterias and I helped her out during weekends and sometimes after school which was really fun not only because I was earning some bucks, but also because I was learning a lot. Kinda like my mom’s kitchen was my playground.

I took Culinary Arts back in 2009. I have a background working in restaurants and bakeries. Now I’m a stay-at-home wife and a mom of two cats, Malibu and Sansa. Creativity takes the most of my time. On a good day, I’m a painter, photographer, food v/blogger and a baker.

I love posting recipes on my personal social media accounts. But people often ask me about the techniques or culinary terminologies that I use. Like what does concasse means or confit or what is demi-glace. And honestly, it’s better to show them than explain them in words.

That’s why I created Miss Confections.

Miss Confections is all about easy achievable home-baked recipes with a hint of art and science. In this platform I showcase my take on classic recipes or even new trends that we see on social media. I always believe that beautiful and delicious desserts shouldn’t always be complicated and hard to make. With all of my skills, knowledge and techniques in baking and cooking I try to help people, bring out their inner pastry chefs.
